Our General Office Policies

Welcome to our office!  We sincerely thank you for considering us to serve your needs.  Our entire staff is a team dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and service  to our clients and patients.  We take great pride in each staff member’s training and capabilities.

So that we might all enjoy a smooth working relationship, we ask you to take a couple of minutes to read over our basic office policies.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  We will be most happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Thank you, and once  again, welcome!
Regular Visits:

Regular  preventative care  and follow-up is very important in maintaining the long lasting health of your pet.  We, therefore, encourage our clients to adhere to the recommended visits.  We will advise you when it is time for your pet’s visit, and help you with appointments that best suit your busy schedule.

Appointments:

We strive to keep our clients "waiting time” to a minimum, as we recognize that your timeis valuable.  Therefore, we are able to see our clients and patients on an appointment basis only (with the exception of emergencies).  We consider an appointment made to be an  agreement and commitment between our office and our clients, and we rely on our fine clients to abide by the agreement.  We will always work with you to the best of our abilities,  to furnish you with the appointment times which you feel will work best for you.  We also offer “drop-off” appointments for your convenience.
As we do operate on a schedule, we do request a minimum of 24 hours notice, if at all possible, for any cancellation of appointments. This is to allow us to schedule another patient  that might be in need care.  Repeated "missed" appointments may result  in a “no-show” fee.

Admissions and Dismissals:

For the safety of our staff and patients, routine admissions and dismissals  are  limited to  during regular  business hours.
Surgery patients are requested to be present at the hospital for admission between 8:10-8:30 am the morning of surgery unless previous arrangements have been made in order that necessary pre-surgery laboratory procedures  may be performed and that appropriate  pre-surgical medications may be administered in a timely manner.  Post-surgical dismissal times are dependent on the surgery procedure performed and the status of the patient.  As the safety of our clients and the wellbeing of our patients is of paramount importance, no patient will be dismissed until stable and fully ambulatory

Emergencies:

As emergencies do arise, we ask your understanding and patience if there is a delay during your appointment time due to a patient in serious need of immediate care.  We will try to inform you of any changes ahead of time if at all possible.  If you have an emergency,  please call the office right away and we will do everything that we can to get your pet in at the earliest opportunity.
If we are out of the office,  or after hours, please call Mission Veterinary Emergency Clinic at 210-691-0900   as we are no longer able to take after hours patients.

Financial Arrangements:

For the convenience of our clients, we accept cash, personal check with identification, all major credit cards, and a service called Care Credit.  Care Credit is a medical based credit card that offers several attractive financing options.  You will find contact information for Care Credit under "Payment Options."
Unfortunately we are no longer able to accept post-dated checks, hold checks,  or travelers checks.

We sincerely appreciate all of our clients and their pets.  We will do  everything possible to deliver the highest quality care in a safe and comfortable enviorment for you and your pet.  Service is our watchword.  Please do not hesitate to discuss any questions that you have about our office policies.  And, if you are satisfied with our office and the service you receive, please feel free to tell a friend.  We welcome new clients and patients and greatly appreciate when our clients refer their friends to us.

Thank you again-
